Apple Pie

Pie Crust
Ingredients
2 9-inch pie crusts
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
dash of salt
6 cups thinly sliced pared apples
2 tbsp butter
Directions
Preheat Oven to 425°F.
Cut shapes or slits into top crust.
Stir together sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
Mix with apples. Turn over into pastry-lined pan; dot with butter. Cover with top crust which has slits cut in it.
Seal and flute.
Cover edge with 2-3 strips of foil to prevent excessive browning.
Remove foil for the last 15 minutes.
Bake for 40-45 minutes until filling is set.

Ingredients
1/4 cup Crisco
1/4 cup butter softened slightly
1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup water
Directions
Blend flour and salt.
Add Crisco and butter, blend with pastry blender until velvety.
Add water all at once and stir quickly with fork until it forms into a ball.
Roll out on pastry cloth, using plenty of flour, into a circle. Roll out only once!
For bottom crust, fold in half and then in half again, lift and place over pie tin, and unfold.
For top crust, make your pie filling, fill the bottom crust, then place top crust on top.
Use leftover crust/pastry for Bumble Bees recipe.
Notes
Pies will need two of these crusts, one for the bottom and one for the top.
