  • Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch pie crusts

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2/3 cup light corn syrup (Karo)

  • 3 eggs

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 tbsp flour

  • 1 1/2 cups pecans

Directions

  • Preheat Oven to 375°F.

  • Combine sugar, butter, syrup, add flour and eggs.

  • Beat slightly.

  • Add vanilla. Beat slightly again.

  • Put pecans In pie shell.

  • Pour mixture over nuts.

  • Bake for 40-50 minutes until filling is set.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Crisco

  • 1/4 cup butter softened slightly

  • 1 1/4 cup flour

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 cup water

Directions

  • Blend flour and salt.

  • Add Crisco and butter, blend with pastry blender until velvety.

  • Add water all at once and stir quickly with fork until it forms into a ball.

  • Roll out on pastry cloth, using plenty of flour, into a circle. Roll out only once!

  • For bottom crust, fold in half and then in half again, lift and place over pie tin, and unfold.

  • For top crust, make your pie filling, fill the bottom crust, then place top crust on top.

  • Use leftover crust/pastry for Bumble Bees recipe.

Notes

  • Pies will need two of these crusts, one for the bottom and one for the top.
