Pie Crust

Servings:

1 pie crust

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Crisco

  • 1/4 cup butter softened slightly

  • 1 1/4 cup flour

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 cup water

Directions

  • Blend flour and salt.

  • Add Crisco and butter, blend with pastry blender until velvety.

  • Add water all at once and stir quickly with fork until it forms into a ball.

  • Roll out on pastry cloth, using plenty of flour, into a circle. Roll out only once!

  • For bottom crust, fold in half and then in half again, lift and place over pie tin, and unfold.

  • For top crust, make your pie filling, fill the bottom crust, then place top crust on top.

  • Use leftover crust/pastry for Bumble Bees recipe.

Notes

  • Pies will need two of these crusts, one for the bottom and one for the top.
