Swedish Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/2 tsp marjoram

  • 1/2 lb ground pork

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion

  • dash of pepper

  • 3 tbsp chopped parsley

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 3/4 cup soft bread crumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 4 tbsp flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1/8 tsp pepper

  • 2 cups water (boiling)

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 4 tbsp fat

  • 3/4 cup sour cream

Directions

  • Combine ingredients and mix well.

  • Add milk and mix.

  • Chill 2 hours or longer (overnight if possible).

  • Shape into walnut sized balls.

  • Heat fat. Then put the meatballs in the fat and brown slowly until well done.

  • Remove meat balls.

  • Stir into fat the following: flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.

  • Add 2 cups boiling water.

  • Cook until smooth.

  • Heat meat balls in gravy.

  • Stir in sour cream, a little at a time.

  • Serve with noodles or rice.

Notes

  • You can can bake the meatballs in the oven and then heat them in gravy after. If making larger meatballs, bake for 20 minutes at 350°F.
